Oil Painting
Mondays 5:30-7:30p September 11th - October 23rd Instructor: Robyn Iarrobino
About our class...
In this class we will explore the wonderful world of oil painting. This is a great class for a new painter or for a painter who wants to sharpen his/her skills. We will meet each Monday from 5:30 - 7:30. We will work with a limited pallet to keep cost of supplies low. If you prefer to use my paint and brushes, there will be a $5.00 studio fee applied for each class. That will be collect at the start of each class and is not part of the class registration cost. Each student is responsible for their own canvas and papertowels. I recommend canvas size 9x12, but for the first class you will need a 6x8 canvas. Class dates: Sept 11, 18, 25, Oct 2, 16, 23 - NO CLASS ON COLUMBUS DAY Required Paints - Please get the colors listed, do not substitute any colors: I use the Winsor Newton professional brand - NOT THE WINTON NEWTON. Also, when you order on line there are two sizes offered for the tubes of paint. The small sized tubes is plenty. Alizarin Red Cadmium Red Lemon Yellow Cadmium Yellow Yellow Ochre Virdian Cerulean Blue Ultramarine Blue Titanium White Gamsol (this is a refined turpintine) Paper Towels Pallette - I suggest the paper ones small jar (used to hold the turpintine) This doesn't need to be very big. I use a baby food jar. Brushes: I suggest 3 Rounds with sizes 2, 4, 6 and 2 flats size 4 and 6. For brands, I recommend the Princeton's Aspen brushes that can be found at Michaels or the Silver Bristlon which can be ordered through Amazon or Jerry's Artarama.
