CLASS: ADULT Beginner PASTELS, Mondays from 10am-12pm. The next 6 week session begins February 24, 2020!

Start the New Year off right with a fun and colorful adventure into pastel painting! Luscious pigments, rich textures, and no drying time … just a few of the reasons to love this exciting and versatile medium! Under the instruction of representational artist, Mona Dumoulin Cross, we will explore mark making techniques, underpaintings, and surface options. We will discuss soft, medium, and hard pastels and when to use each of them. We will also learn how to preserve and care for our finished artwork. This fun, hands-on painting class will also help students strengthen their skills by reinforcing their knowledge of the fundamentals: value, color theory, form, edges, and composition. Please note, this on-going class welcomes students at all levels of experience, but is limited in size to assure students plenty of time for individual guidance as well as group instruction.  Come discover the beauty that is pastel!
